Here is the number line. On the right side of 0, the numbers are increasing by +30. On the left side of 0, the numbers are decreasing by -30.

The first question on your paper says Sharif opened an account with 0. So, you're at 0 on the number line. Then he deposited $150... that means he added 150 to the account. So, you're going +150 up the number line.

Next, he withdrew, or, took out $35 from the account. That means he took 35 from 150. You're going 35 left on the number line...that's where you'll land at 115. 115 is located between 90 and 120, but it's closer to 120.

Replicate the number line from above on to your paper, and you'll get the question right. :)

2) The Baltimore ravens moved the football -15 yards. NEGATIVE FIFTEEN. That means you're decreasing. Look at the number line. -15 is located halfway between 0 and -30.

So, the correct answers are: b) and c)
