    It's not clear if the angles add to 90 degrees, so we dont know if they are complementary or not. This rules out choice A. The angles are not alternate exterior or interior angles because they do not sit on alternating sides of the transversal line (one angle would have to be above and the other below the transversal for this to happen). So this rules out choices B and D.
